Your emergency gift helps fight COVID-19 on Navajo Nation
As of April 7, Navajo had reported a higher number of COVID-19 cases than all other American Indian Nations combined, as well as a higher mortality rate than the rest of the United States. Despite quick action from Navajo leadership, chronic under-funding by the federal government means that tribal facilities across Indian Country are less prepared to respond to the COVID-19 epidemic.
Working with the Navajo Area Indian Health Service and the Navajo Nation government, COPE is bridging the gap by providing supplies to families in quarantine, protective gear to healthworkers, and public communications support.
Your gift can provide vital, early-stage help in curbing the spread of COVID-19 within one of the country’s most vulnerable populations.
